Canvas and leather: two styles, one classic shape

Our collection of girls' ballerinas covers two distinct materials, each with its own character:

Canvas bow ballet flats — The signature style. Made from organic cotton with a natural rubber sole and a reinforced rubber toecap. A sweet bow detail on the front adds personality to a clean, classic design. Available in a wide selection of colours to match any outfit. Lightweight, breathable and machine washable at 30 °C — one of our best-selling styles for younger girls.

Leather ballet flats — A slightly more polished option. Made from eco-friendly leather with an elastic band on the front for a snug, comfortable fit that girls can manage on their own. A versatile shoe that works just as well for a birthday party as for a school day — smarter than canvas, but still relaxed enough for everyday wear.

Natural materials, made for comfort

Our canvas models use GOTS-certified organic cotton — grown without pesticides, naturally breathable and soft against young skin. Comfortable enough to wear without socks on warm days. The leather models use responsibly sourced, eco-friendly leather with a smooth, supple finish.

All soles are made from natural rubber, providing flexibility, grip and cushioning. Canvas ballet flats are bonded by vulcanisation (heat and pressure, no chemical glues), making them more durable and fully washable.

Can canvas ballet flats go in the washing machine?

Yes. Canvas models with natural rubber soles are machine washable at 30 °C on a short cycle. Remove the insoles, wash with similar colours and air dry in the shade. Avoid tumble drying. For leather ballet flats, wipe clean with a damp cloth and apply a suitable leather conditioner when needed.

What materials are used?

Can they be worn without socks?

European sizes 21 to 34. Check the size guide on each product page for detailed measurements. We recommend leaving around 10–12 mm of growing room beyond the longest toe.

Ballet flats work well as school shoes, particularly for girls who prefer a simpler, more feminine style. The leather option offers a smarter appearance for schools with stricter uniform policies, while canvas styles are ideal for warmer terms or schools with more relaxed dress codes.

Ballet flats or Mary Janes?

Ballet flats have a low, sleek profile with no strap — a slightly more grown-up look that's easy to slip on and off. Mary Janes have a velcro strap across the top for a more secure fit — better for younger girls and more active days. Both use the same quality materials.
