Organic cotton, natural rubber, fully washable

Our girls' Mary Janes use GOTS-certified organic cotton — grown without pesticides, naturally breathable and soft against young skin. Comfortable enough to wear without socks on warm days, with no irritation or overheating.

The soles are natural rubber from the rubber tree — flexible, grippy and cushioned. Canvas and rubber are bonded by vulcanisation (heat and pressure, no chemical glues), making the shoes durable and fully machine washable at 30 °C. When they come home covered in grass, paint or playground dust, a short wash cycle sorts them out.

Can Mary Janes go in the washing machine?

Yes. Our canvas Mary Janes with natural rubber soles are machine washable at 30 °C on a short cycle. Remove the insoles, wash with similar colours and air dry in the shade. Avoid tumble drying. For tougher stains, a rub with Marseille soap before washing works well.

What materials are used?

The upper is GOTS-certified organic cotton — breathable, hypoallergenic and grown without pesticides. The sole is natural rubber, bonded by vulcanisation (no chemical glues). Green Trade World certified across the full range.

What sizes are available?

European sizes 21 to 34. Check the size guide on each product page for detailed measurements. We recommend leaving around 10–12 mm of growing room beyond the longest toe.

Are they easy for girls to put on by themselves?

Yes. All our Mary Janes have a velcro strap fastening — simple enough for young girls to manage on their own. No buckles, no buttons, no help needed. It also provides a secure, adjustable fit that stays in place during active play.

Can they be worn without socks?

Absolutely. The organic cotton lining is soft and breathable, so feet stay comfortable without socks even on the warmest days. No irritation — the cotton is naturally hypoallergenic.

Mary Janes or ballerinas?

Mary Janes have a strap across the top for a secure fit — better for younger girls and more active days. Ballerinas have a lower, sleeker profile with no strap — a slightly more grown-up look. Both use the same organic cotton and natural rubber, so comfort and quality are the same. Many parents keep both — Mary Janes for everyday, ballerinas for occasions.
